April 11, 2007 - Data disclosures from mobile and remote devices will dictate future business continuity plans for global enterprises, according to Iron Mountain Digital, the technology arm of Iron Mountain.
As more and more sensitive company information resides on PCs, laptops, and in remote offices that fall outside the protection of an enterprise's central data centre, it is becoming increasingly important for businesses to manage the risks of lost or corrupt data. The new suite combines Iron Mountain's Connected Backup/PC solution with its DataDefense solution thereby automatically backing up the data for recovery whilst deleting sensitive information from lost or stolen devices, based on rules that are set and implemented by a company administrator. The integrated package provides enterprise-control over the PC data protection and recovery process, with complete endpoint security.
The PC Data Protection Suite is offered as a subscription service or as licensed software. The subscription service provides secure, off-site data storage, instant scalability, and unmatched ease of use, and requires no capital investment, while the licensed software allows organisations to run the solution inside their own IT environments.
